Realty
Our most significant real estate work has been concentrated in nine areas. One of these has been advising three of the nation’s pre-eminent developers on some of their most ambitious projects including a mall, residential towers, office towers, a residential estate and two new small towns.
We have been at the forefront of fashioning for these transactions contractual documentation covering the acquisition, development, financing and operation of the two projects.
The deal structure has varied greatly from transaction to transaction depending on the income, capital gains and perfection tax considerations that have been most pertinent in each context.
Another area has been advising on leases of specialized facilities most notably tank farms for refined petroleum products, storage for industrial chemicals and quayside facilities at ports.
We have been advising both private equity firms and their entrepreneur “partners” on structuring and financing major real estate projects -- a hotel, hostels, two shopping malls with offices.
A major investor relatively new to the market has engaged us to advise on acquiring a substantial minority stake in a very successful real estate development project.
