Publication: Colection of Customers' Social Media Information by Banks: An Examination of Legal Propriety
In this article, our associates – Fidelis Oguche, Ayomipo Adeniyi, and IyanuOluwa Adeyemo – critically examine the legal propriety of a controversial “customer due diligence” measure prescribed by the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Customer Due Diligence Regulations, 2023 requiring financial institutions to collect social media addresses of existing and prospective customers.
