Lawyers in our Infrastructure workgroup had the privilege of advising China Harbour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC), a major investor in LPLEL, the concessionaire for the Lekki Deep Sea Port, on making its equity investment in LPLEL.
The Lekki Deep Sea Port is the largest and deepest deep seaport in West Africa and positioned to become a transformative hub for the region. It has a draft of 14 metres, with a potential for further dredging to 16.5 metres.
